Community is strongest when its members leave their pride at the door. That's one thing I'm gradually learning more about. Real community is often a humbling experience.

Just because you're passionate about something doesn't necessarily mean you need to be doing that thing for a living.

Humanizing a brand is much more than a brand posting something in a conversational tone that elicits some emotional response. That's just good ad copywriting. 

This is far from a how-to list. Blogging has changed tremendously over the years. How would I do things differently today?

I don't normally pay for apps. Who does? But I've recently purchased two. Both of these have added a lot of value (and better design) to my work day. 

One New York Times author complained how she was classified as a millennial but didn't fit the stereotype. Very few of us do. Yeah, I'm a millennial...but who cares?

I like Apple. I really do. I think the Macbook is the best laptop out there. I love my iPhone 6. I die a little on the inside when I have to use PowerPoint instead of Keynote. But I didn't buy their watch. 

Success isn't overnight. Most success stories that grace the covers of Fast Company or Inc. are usually stories that are actually many many years in the making. It's just hard to always remember that.
