A Couple of Months Into a New Challenge
At the end of August, I took on a new role as the Director of Digital Marketing at Womble Bond Dickinson, a trans-Atlantic law firm that is one of the top 100 law firms in the world. It was a great opportunity to take on a leadership role to help refine the digital marketing efforts of a growing law firm and have more ownership of the end-to-end client experience online.
My Biggest Takeaway from "The Five Day Turnaround"
There were a lot of takeaways from both story lines but one truth seemed to resonate with me throughout the book: trust is everything.
Nobody Gives You Work Life Balance
I would also argue that we share more responsibility for our work/life balance (or lack thereof) than we want to admit. If workloads or schedules feel like they are spiraling out of control, it may be your bosses fault…but then again it likely isn’t.

My Relationship Status with Facebook: It's Complicated

Do what works for you. I’m not saying sleep in because it’s easier to sleep in (it is for most of us). Find the rhythm that best helps you achieve the most. There’s more factoring into your success than the time of day you wake up.
Is Saying "Yes" Always Helpful to the Person Asking?
We should always try and put ourselves in a place of service to others. Often times that does indeed saying “yes” and trying to figure out a way to make things happen. However, a well thought out “no, but…” could help everyone even more in the long run.
